Structural questions for nonlinear energy densities, with a focus on polyconvexity, isotropy, and constitutive modelling.

Overview

A second strand of my research concerns the mathematical structure of nonlinear elastic energy densities. In particular, I study polyconvexity and isotropy, including reduced characterizations that exploit invariance properties. These questions are relevant both for analytical existence theory and for the construction and verification of constitutive models.
